Resurrect is turning six and we are celebrating with a store-wide sale on 9/22 and 9/23!
On Saturday, 9/22, we are hosting an art opening for SF artist, David Morritt from 6pm - 8pm. Stop by for refreshments, indulge in our anniversary sale, and check out his incredible sculptures.
David Morritt is an American artist, teacher, and curator based in San Francisco, CA. He currently teaches sculpture at Orinda Intermediate School.
Inspired by the environment, culture, and the everyday rhythm of life, his mixed media sculptures invoke a dialogue between feminine and masculine, ornate and unadorned, growth and decay, celebration and mourning, vulnerability and truth. As a peaceful support of protest, revolution, and protection of wildlife and the environment, these works promote an inclusive vision of world peace focusing on human as well as animal rights.
Join us this Saturday from 11am - 4pm and meet Tori Peterson, the artist behind 24th & Agate. Tori resides in Santa Cruz and creates delicate, yet edgy pieces composed of sterling silver and all natural gemstones. Stop by and treat yourself!
We are excited to present "Hoodoos" a collection of oil paintings by local artist Nancy Brown. Stop by the shop on Saturday 7/12/18 from 6pm - 9pm to meet the artist. Refreshments will be served.
Nancy Brown is an Oakland realist painter who usually paints scenes of life in Oakland, but an exploration of the definition of "hoodoo" led to a fascination with mystical natural monuments made by time, desert conditions and ancient sea beds. This is a collection of small, enchanted oil renderings of vast, wild, natural phenomena.
Join us to celebrate all things sky and then some with Oakland ceramic artist, Laura Ann Kay on Friday, May 18th from 6pm - 9pm. Laura's whimsical ceramic art pieces are perfect for Spring. From sun and sky plates to high-flying birds, happy fish, wall faces, and quirky characters, Laura's work reflects her playfulness, affection for nature, and love of color. In addition to her wall art, she will be debuting a handful of her new hand-painted snack plates. Join us for refreshments, late night shopping, and wonderful local art! In case you have to miss the art reception, the show will be up from May 15th - July 15th, 2018.
Laura Ann Kay's affinity for ceramics began in 2010. Initially, she created small pieces, the kind of enchanted objects she might have collected as a child and stashed in her jean pockets. Over the past 8 years, she’s developed numerous themes, creating texture using bits of broken pen parts, paint brush handles, eucalyptus pods, and other various found objects.
We are excited to celebrate Earth Day this year with an incredible locally based company: tonlé! tonlé is a zero-waste clothing brand that is based in San Francisco and produced by a small team in Cambodia. Using every last thread, they create handmade clothing and accessories signed by their Cambodian makers. tonlé will be popping up at Resurrect from 12pm - 4pm on Saturday April 21st. You can have a chance to see their full line and also meet the designer and learn more about sustainable fashion.

We are excited to announce our newest art show (opening 9/16/17) featuring the artwork of Mary Morrow. Mary is a true Renaissance woman and has dabbled in all sorts of artistic endeavors and professions throughout her lifetime, including; sewing, acting, set design, costume design, playing music, interior design, and painting. Mary is also the mother of Resurrect's founder Kate. She has been a huge influence on Kate's love of fashion, sewing, and art and was a very supportive force in helpingKate achieve her dreams of opening Resurrect.
We are so excited that Mary came all the way out from Phoenix, AZ to present this new art show entitled: El Cielo Y El Infierno (Heaven and Hell). The show will be up at Resurrect from September 16th - November 13th 2017. We will be having the artist reception on September 16th from 5pm - 7pm during Resurrect's 5 year anniversary sale, so stop by for a chance to meet the artist.
Growing up Catholic, Mary Morrow was influenced by the nuns in parochial school and their vivid tales of Heaven, Purgatory and Hell. In her early teens, she moved to Addis Ababa, Ethiopa and was introduced to the colorful art of the Ethiopian Coptic Church. As an adult, Mary resides in the Southwest, and has fallen in love with Latin American folk art, Frida Kahlo, Dia de Los Muertos and Our Lady of Guadalupe, whom she considers our Earth Mother. Mary began a collection of over 30 Latin American hand-carved wooden masks on her travels. On a voyage to Peru, she was astonished to find detailed life-size tableaus of saints fully clothed in silver and gold finery. All of these influences continually shape her art and her life. She’s woven them together using painting, fabric, collage, and presented her art alongside several of the masks to create her show, El Cielo y El Infierno.
We will be celebrating the shop's 5 year anniversary all day (11am - 7pm) on Saturday, September 16th, 2017!! We will be offering 15% off everything in store and online (use discount code: FIVEYEARS.
Stop by for a huge sale, refreshments, and some special giveaways. From 5pm - 7pm, we will be hosting an artist reception for our new art show entitled El Cielo Y El Infierno (Heaven & Hell) by artist Mary Morrow.
